Mr. Zinsley is a registered professional geologist and engineering geologist with professional experience throughout California, the West Coast, and abroad since 1989. He has extensive experience in landslide hazard characterization and stabilization, soils and foundation engineering, liquefaction analysis, Alquist-Priolo earthquake fault studies, geological exploration and mapping, and construction observation. Mr. Zinsley has additional experience conducting geophysical surveys and environmental engineering investigations. He has also participated in geotechnical investigations for dams, bridges, highways, railroads, public and private schools, commercial buildings, and private residences and housing tracts. Mr. Zinsley has a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with additional graduate studies at California State University, Los Angeles, in education. Mark R. Petersen P.E., G.E., P.G., E.G., Associate Geotechnical Engineer, Associate Engineering Geologist
Mr. Petersen is a registered geotechnical engineer and engineering geologist. Since his first assignment as a field geologist on the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline, Mark has applied his training in earth science and engineering disciplines to projects throughout the Western U.S. and as well as the Arctic, Himalayas, and Middle East. Mark earned his B.S. degree in Geology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from San Jose State University. He has a strong background in site exploration, seismic and geohazard assessment, and foundation design for difficult sites. His projects have included: geohazard studies; dam and earth structure investigations and construction monitoring; deep and shallow foundations for bridge and multi-story buildings; public works facilities (canals, pipelines, levees, municipal water and wastewater treatment plants); landslide analysis and repair; earth stabilization and retaining structures; forensic studies; transportation facilities (highway, rail, and airports); water and wastewater treatment facilities; and earthquake fault and seismic hazard studies. He has participated on Value Engineering teams for major water, wastewater, pipeline, and transportation projects. As a geotechnical specialist for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Mark served as lead of the FEMA Landslide Workgroup during the “El Nino” storms of 1998, where he was responsible for assessing landslide failures throughout California. Mark teaches geotechnical and earth science college courses and assists with development and grading of licensing examinations given by the State of California for both Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists.
David Campbell P.G., Senior Project Geologist
Mr. Campbell is a registered geologist with extensive experience as a project manager on major projects in the United States and abroad. He has expertise in groundwater hydrology as well as environmental and geotechnical engineering. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of Clemson University. Mr. Campbell is HAZWOPER certified.

Mr. Grant is a registered professional geologist and engineering geologist with professional experience throughout California and Nevada since 1983. He has extensive experience in environmental and geotechnical engineering projects. His major projects include development of rail lines, highways, airports, bridges, hospitals, and schools. Michael Carey P.G., E.G., Associate Engineering Geologist
Mr. Carey is a registered professional geologist and engineering geologist with professional experience throughout northern California since 1978. He obtained a BS in Geology from the University of California at Davis, and has done post-graduate work at UC Berkeley. Mr. Carey has performed numerous fault hazard investigations and landslide analyses for a variety of projects ranging from single-family homes to large infrastructure projects, located throughout Northern California and in the Sierra. Additionally, he has vast experience dealing with contractors in the field and conducting field observations of earthwork and density testing of engineered fill. Ms. Doran is a senior staff geologist experienced in site characterization using subsurface exploration and geologic mapping techniques.
